Two 16-year-old teenagers from Florida have been charged with 22 felony counts, including kidnapping, robbery, and armed assault, for allegedly kidnapping a cryptocurrency holder in Las Vegas and stealing $4 million worth of cryptocurrency and NFTs. The victim was forced to surrender account passwords after being taken to a remote desert in Arizona and ultimately walked five miles to seek help. Recently, there has been an increase in violent crimes against cryptocurrency holders globally, including the kidnapping and torture of a co-founder of a French cryptocurrency company, the kidnapping and extortion of a cryptocurrency tycoon’s father, and a failed kidnapping attempt of a Canadian man due to misinformation.
