In the past few days of the India-Pakistan war, everyone in different places has comments on the war. However, after watching for a few days, I feel that many people are still bound by the game visuals and their self-perception. It seems that they are only commenting to describe what they want to say.
I feel that most people have slowly begun to have an outdated view of fighter jets as engaging in close combat. Such discussions seem to resemble conversations intended for an elderly club.
I think one key point is: modern aerial combat with fighter jets, excluding reconnaissance, jammers, or other uses, when viewed purely as combat, has now transformed into merely airborne mobile launchers.
If one continues to think that fighter jets must be multifunctional, to be honest, that is no longer the focus of warfare.... it may have already become obsolete.
Therefore, it feels that discussing the destruction of other countries in this era, and believing that fighter jets are involved in aerial close-combat games, is already outdated.
In the political environment, the advancement of human civilization has gradually leaned towards just being airborne launchers, with the rest relying on political communication as a future focus.
This is just my personal opinion; I feel that looking at how multifunctional fighter jets are and how strong their performance is has become useless.
