Following the launch of Operation #AlBunyanAlMarsous , several countries moved to de-escalate tensions between Pakistan and India. The United States offered mediation through its Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, during a call with the Pakistani Army Chief. The G7, which includes Canada, Germany, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union, called for de-escalation, warning of a threat to regional stability. Britain called for direct dialogue through its Foreign Minister, while the European Union is making official and unofficial efforts with both sides. Gulf states have also expressed interest in mediation, and Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir visited both countries.
