Metaplanet Issues $21.25 Million Bond to Purchase Bitcoin
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, Metaplanet has issued its 14th series of ordinary bonds, raising $21.25 million to purchase Bitcoin. The bond has been approved by the board and fully subscribed by EVO FUND. Earlier, Metaplanet purchased 555 Bitcoins for approximately $53.4 million, bringing its total holdings to 5,555 Bitcoins, with a total investment amount of $481.5 million, making it the largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder in Asia. This zero-coupon bond will mature on November 7, 2025, with a par value of $625,000 each. The company stated that this bond issuance is not expected to have a significant impact on its financial performance for the period ending in December.
