Mid-year in 2023, while writing a paper on decentralized databases, I registered for the SXT Space and Time early access webinar. To engage developers, SXT was offering a bit of a bounty for attendees that deployed a demo through their zk-proof query protocol. I stayed up till 3 in the morning finishing mine-a tiny app, showing verified weather data from Chainlink paired with SXT backend.
A month later, I received a message stating I was eligible for the SXT airdrop; I almost disregarded it as a spam message. But 6,200 SXT were actually in my wallet when I checked. Value-wise, they were close to a thousand dollars back then. I used it to attend my very first blockchain hackathon abroad where I met the folks that hired me into an internship.
It's crazy to think that just one late-night webinar on decentralized data truly changed the course of my career. Space. Time. And one random student figuring it out one block at a time.
