Wife of a former FTX executive said that the U.S. Government "induced a guilty plea"

Michelle Bond, who is facing campaign finance charges, is one of the latest significant figures linked to the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, through her husband, who is awaiting trial.

Michelle Bond, the wife of former FTX Digital Markets co-CEO Ryan Salame, who is facing federal charges for campaign finance violations, is asking for the case to be dismissed, claiming that U.S. prosecutors misled her husband into a plea agreement.

In a filing submitted on May 7 to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Bond's attorneys reiterated some of the claims Salame made in opposing his agreement with the government, which ultimately led him to serve time in prison. He asserted that prosecutors obtained a deal with Salame through "secrecy and deception" by allegedly agreeing not to file charges against Bond.
