#StripeStablecoinAccounts Stripe has taken a significant step in the integration of cryptocurrencies by allowing payments with stablecoins, specifically USDC, on its platform. Since October 9, 2024, merchants in the U.S. can accept payments in USDC, and in the first 24 hours, users from over 70 countries conducted transactions using this option.

This initiative aims to offer businesses a more efficient and lower-cost payment alternative, especially for international transactions. Payments with stablecoins are automatically converted to U.S. dollars and stored in Stripe's wallets, with a fee of 1.5% per transaction.

Additionally, Stripe has strengthened its infrastructure in this area by acquiring Bridge, a platform specialized in stablecoins, for $1.1 billion. This move underscores the growing importance of stablecoins in the global financial landscape and Stripe's commitment to leading in this emerging space.
