President Donald Trump criticized the Federal Reserve and its chairman Jerome Powell after the Federal Reserve kept the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 4.25%-4.50% following its recent meeting.
In an article on "Truth Social", Trump described Powell as "stupid". According to the article, the Federal Reserve stated that reasons for not lowering interest rates include waiting for more clarity about the economy and the impact of tariffs, in addition to inflation being above the target level.
