$SHIB The Shiba Inu community burns over 1 billion SHIB tokens with Shib Torch

The Shiba Inu community has reached a major milestone. By using the Shib Torch burning portal, they have destroyed (or 'burned') more than 1 billion SHIB tokens, removing them from circulation.

Who shared the news?

A well-known Shiba Inu news page, Shibarium Updates (@shibizens), talked about it on Twitter.

Details:

Amount burned: 1,003,331,701 SHIB tokens

Value at current price ($0.00001330): Approximately $13,334

Although this represents only a small portion of the total supply of 589.5 trillion SHIB, it could help increase the value of the token over time by reducing the supply.

How much has Shib Torch burned previously?

A little less than two months ago, The Crypto Basic reported that Shib Torch had burned 713.12 million SHIB.

Since March 18, 2025, the burning portal has added 290.2 million SHIB, bringing the total to over 1 billion.

This shows an increase of 4.97% compared to last week's numbers, suggesting that more people are using Shibarium and contributing to the burn.

How does the burn work?

Shib Torch burns SHIB tokens using a portion of the transaction fees from the Shibarium network.

Here’s how it works:

To perform a transaction on Shibarium, users pay base fees in BONE tokens.

If users want a faster service, they can also pay priority fees.

The base fees are distributed:

70% are used to burn SHIB

30% goes to the Shibarium platform

This burning method helps reduce the total number of SHIB tokens over time, which could lead to a higher value in the long run.
