Binance's New Rules: Points Can Be Used as Money, Is Spring Here for Small Retail Investors?
Following the previous article about the surge in Binance tweet traffic, today I want to share my thoughts on point consumption.
Starting from May 13, Binance launched a new way to use points, and I feel it mainly benefits these two types of people:
Players Just Missing the Final Push
In the past, they would miss out by three to five points, watching others win awards. Now, after big players claim their airdrops, they will lose points, giving you a chance in the next event.
Newcomers Just Getting Started
Previously, it took 10 to 15 days of grinding to accumulate enough points, but now, with big players losing points, newcomers can catch up quickly. Several friends of mine have experienced this; they started late and kept chasing, missing the qualification to participate.
Although big players still hold an advantage, small retail investors will have a chance to participate in the next event.
Personally, I think what Alpha is doing is quite good. Otherwise, it would turn into a trading points competition, where everyone quickly accumulates 200 points in just a few days. Thanks to @sisibinance for that.
The Essence of the New Rules:
Previously → Pay-to-win players took everything, while free players couldn't catch up and were left behind.
Now → Big players still gain more, but some chips are redistributed, allowing small retail investors to have a chance to participate.
I have to say, Binance's recent rule improvements are becoming more refined with each iteration. They are constantly trying to be comprehensive, essentially achieving a fair distribution where both big and small players can participate. (The specific effects will depend on the implementation details.) Even if the effects are not obvious, at least they are sincerely trying, and everyone should be more understanding and tolerant.
Binance Alpha's recent airdrops are essentially just giving away money, and from any perspective, this is certainly welcomed, directly benefiting every user.
