Listen, my friend, there's an interesting situation on the crypto market right now. Bitcoin has reached the symbolic mark of $100,000 again, which is, of course, cool, but the focus of investors has suddenly shifted. It's all about altcoins: they are the ones that are moving the market forward right now.

Take Ethereum — it jumped by 11% in just a day and exceeded $2,000 again, for the first time since March. ETH usually lags behind bitcoin, but today the opposite is true: BTC has grown by "only" 2.7%. Dogecoin and Cardano are also not far behind — they have added more than 8%, and coins such as Sui and Bitcoin Cash have generally increased by 13-14%. And, surprisingly, Pudgy Penguins, not the most famous coin, actually gained 27% on the day. It's like a second life for violas.

Due to such rapid growth, social media is already saying that a new "altcoin season" has begun. But it's worth cooling down a bit: bitcoin's dominance still remains at 64%. That is, most of the money is still in BTC, and it's too early to talk about a complete trend reversal.

Back in February, Ki Yong-joo from CryptoQuant said that the era of hype is over for everything, and now only strong projects survive — those with real application, sustained interest, and even applications for ETFs. These are XRP, Solana, Cardano and others. And the rest of the slag, he says, simply won't survive.

Moreover, a study from Santiment shows: as soon as everyone starts talking about the "altseason" en masse, this is more of an alarm signal than a confirmation of the trend. Because the best times to log in are when no one is paying attention. Now, on the contrary, everything is in a rush, and this can end in either a surge or a collapse.

Given the political uncertainty and instability of global markets, today's rally may be temporary. So keeping an eye out is probably the most sensible thing to do.

What do you think: Is this the beginning of a new altcoin growth cycle, or just a brief spike amid the general hype?
