$USDC Coinbase plans to acquire the options trading platform Deribit for $2.9 billion (including $700 million in cash and 11 million shares), marking the largest acquisition in the history of the cryptocurrency industry.

Ripple has acquired several companies over the past year and is currently targeting the acquisition of Circle, the issuer of USDC.

Tether is also actively pursuing acquisition deals.
