#Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (#CZBİNANCE ) confirmed after receiving the official application from US President Donald Trump. Zhao explained that this application was made two weeks ago through his lawyers.
CZ stated in a podcast program published yesterday that he made his review official after the news published by Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal in March. It was alleged that Zhao made a request in his meetings with crypto startups that Trump forwarded. Zhao denied these allegations at the time, but implied that he did not completely close the door to the idea of a startup.
Zhao, who was accused of not effectively implementing anti-money laundering programs in 2023, was sentenced to four months in prison in April 2024 and was released in September. While Zhao was fined $50 million in the same case, Binance company signed a settlement of 4 billion 300 million in sales history.
The Trump administration draws attention with the pardons given to close names of crypto people. Trump pardoned Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht, who played a key role in Bitcoin's early history, in January, and in March, he implicated three more people, including BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes.
