Stripe’s Strategic Move into Stablecoin Payments
Stripe has made a major comeback into crypto by introducing stablecoin payments, starting with USDC. Launched on October 9, 2024, its new “Pay with Crypto” feature lets merchants accept USDC on Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon—instantly gaining traction in over 70 countries on day one.
Backed by Paxos, Stripe ensures smooth conversion from USDC to USD, staying compliant and efficient. Even more notably, Stripe is reportedly eyeing the acquisition of Bridge, a stablecoin platform, in a $1 billion deal to supercharge its crypto infrastructure.
This bold move reflects Stripe’s commitment to faster, low-fee, and scalable payment options—placing it firmly at the forefront of the digital payments revolution.
