The Circle society submitted its application for an IPO in New York on Tuesday to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to obtain a listing on Wall Street. Founded in 2013 by Jeremy Allaire and Sean Neville, Circle is the issuer of the USD Coin or #USDC , a "stablecoin," that is, a digital currency indexed to a currency created by a central bank, in this case, the U.S. dollar.
This is the second digital currency classified as "stable" by circulating volume (approximately 60 billion dollars), behind the tether stablecoin, and the fourth cryptocurrency in the world according to the same criterion.
