Deep Tide TechFlow News, on May 8, according to Cointelegraph, Binance founder Zhao Changpeng (CZ) confirmed in the latest podcast that his legal team has submitted a pardon application on his behalf to former U.S. President Trump. Previously, Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal reported that CZ was seeking a pardon, but he denied it at the time. CZ stated that part of the reason for applying for a pardon was inspired by Trump's previous pardon of the BitMEX founders.

Last November, Zhao Changpeng pleaded guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act, paid a $50 million fine, and was sentenced to 4 months in prison. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, even if pardoned, it would not eliminate his money laundering charges, but it may allow him to serve in management positions at Binance.US again.
