#MEMEAct The US Senate Against Politicians' Personal Cryptos
Senator Chris Murphy has introduced the MEME Act, a bill that would prohibit presidents, members of Congress, and high-ranking federal officials from issuing or promoting cryptocurrencies from which they could gain personal profit.
The move is a direct response to the launch of the $TRUMP token by the former president, which has generated over 100 million dollars in fees. The token was used to offer access to exclusive events, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest and outside influences.
Murphy called the initiative "the most corrupt act ever committed by a president," emphasizing the need to protect the integrity of public institutions.
