Cryptocurrencies are now officially not a marginal topic in U.S. politics. Big money and large advocacy groups are now fighting for pro-cryptocurrency policies — and New Jersey is the latest battleground.

Stand With Crypto, an industry advocacy group backed by Coinbase, is funding debates for the Democratic and Republican primaries this May in New Jersey. It is also the sole sponsor of the live broadcasts of the events.

The organization aims to expand its grassroots network, which has over 62,000 members in New Jersey. Internal polls show that 63% of those individuals are more willing to support candidates who favor digital assets.
