Bitcoin is rising, but what about altcoins?
The price of Bitcoin is confidently rising again. After a week of sideways movement, the cryptocurrency has surpassed the $94,000 mark. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) believes this is just the beginning.
In an interview with Farokh Sarmad on Rug Radio, Zhao made a bold prediction. According to him, by the end of 2025, the total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies could reach $5 trillion. At the same time, Bitcoin could rise to $500,000 - $1 million. This optimism is based on active institutional interest, especially against the backdrop of spot Bitcoin ETFs.
Currently, the dominance of Bitcoin is about 65%. This indicates a cautious optimism in the market. But CZ is confident that the main opportunities are hidden not in Bitcoin, but in promising sectors of altcoins.
Four trends from CZ: where to look for growth?
Bitcoin ETF boom: the beginning of institutional interest
According to Zhao, the current rise in Bitcoin is primarily driven by institutional inflows through Bitcoin ETFs in the U.S. However, this is just the first stage. The real boom is yet to come. If demand continues to grow while supply remains limited, the price of BTC could soar to new heights.
The merger of AI and blockchain: a new technological trend
Artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming a topic of discussion in the community. Changpeng Zhao is confident that with the return of Donald Trump, the U.S. administration will actively support the development of AI. According to CZ, the integration of AI and blockchain is inevitable. These technologies complement each other perfectly.
Zhao did not mention specific tokens. However, analysts are already looking at projects like Fetch.ai (FET) and SingularityNET (AGIX). These assets are attracting interest from investors. The reason is the innovative approach to combining AI and blockchain.
DeSci: decentralized science as a new niche
One of the less noticeable sectors, according to Zhao, is DeSci. He suggests the use of smart contracts to fund scientific research and development in pharmaceuticals. The idea is for global laboratories to receive cryptocurrency payments as research goals are achieved.
DeSci is still in its early stages of development. But its potential is enormous. If the concept takes hold, it could radically change the funding of science.
