• AgriDex enables the trading of agricultural land and commodities in the supply chain using Solana's high-speed infrastructure with low fees.

  • $AGRI is one of the few tokens related to agriculture in the Solana RWA ecosystem, alongside Baxus and Ondo.

  • AgriDex processes cross-border asset transfers with a transaction fee of 0.15% and ownership tracking based on smart contracts.

AgriDex ($AGRI), a Solana-based project, has been included in the list of a few platforms focused on tokenizing real assets (RWA) in the agricultural sector. Given that the global agricultural industry is valued at $2.7 trillion, AgriDex aims to move this traditionally opaque and inefficient market on-chain.

Nick Dukoff from Solana Foundation highlights $AGRI as a key project.

Nick Dukoff, Head of Institutional Growth at Solana Foundation, recently listed $AGRI along with Baxus and Ondo Finance as real asset (RWA) projects active in the Solana ecosystem. During a public event, he named these teams as participants in Solana's current efforts to develop RWA.

AgriDex, the platform behind $AGRI, processes on-chain transactions related to agricultural land and commodities. It uses the fast and inexpensive Solana network to handle these deals. So far, AgriDex has completed several transactions, including the sale of agricultural land in Zambia for $165,000 and the shipment of wine and olive oil from South Africa to London.

The leading analyst sees outstanding potential in $AGRI.

Cryptocurrency analyst Michael van de Poppe also shared his views on $AGRI, calling it outstanding among RWA projects. He emphasized the structural inefficiencies in the agricultural sector and highlighted the need for blockchain-based solutions that improve transparency and access to capital.

According to van de Poppe, AgriDex's approach allows global investors to allocate funds across regions and earn returns from real agricultural production.

He noted that although $AGRI remains a micro-cap project, its active development and industry focus make it worthy of attention.

Agriculture is moving to blockchain through AgriDex.

AgriDex utilizes the Solana blockchain to tokenize agricultural assets such as farmland and export goods into digital tokens. With this platform, users can buy and sell fractional ownership of these assets. This approach allows multiple parties to own a share of the same agricultural property or commodity without relying on traditional brokers or centralized clearing systems.

In typical agricultural markets, access to financing and cross-border participation is often limited. Intermediaries, banking delays, and legal complexities make trading slow and expensive. AgriDex addresses these issues by using smart contracts to automate transactions and transfer ownership. As a result, farmers and traders can connect directly with buyers or investors.

The platform operates on the Solana blockchain, which supports faster transactions and low network fees. Settlement times are reduced from several days to just seconds depending on network activity. According to AgriDex, the fee for a complete transaction on its platform is only 0.15% compared to 3%-6% for international bank transfers or brokerage deals.

Additionally, Solana's infrastructure allows for transparent and real-time tracking of asset ownership. This feature helps reduce counterparty risk, which is a persistent issue in agricultural trading. Both buyers and sellers can see the transaction status and asset history directly on-chain without the need for third-party verification.

Solana's RWA promotion includes $AGRI, Baxus, and Ondo.

AgriDex operates in the Solana ecosystem alongside other real asset (RWA) projects such as Baxus and Ondo Finance. Baxus focuses on the tokenization and trading of wines and spirits, while Ondo Finance develops blockchain-based financial products backed by U.S. Treasury bonds. These platforms operate in different sectors, but they all utilize Solana’s infrastructure for on-chain transactions.

Agriculture remains one of the least represented sectors in asset tokenization based on blockchain to date. AgriDex is working to change this and make the transfer of agricultural assets smoother and more accessible, collaborating with other Solana-based RWA platforms, each focusing on different asset categories.
