Starting from May 7, 2025, Binance will designate six coins with the monitoring tag.

The affected tokens include MOVE, PORTAL, HIFI, ALPHA, REI, and LEVER.

Access to trading requires passing a risk test every ninety days, and marked tokens may be delisted.

By expanding the monitoring tag to six additional cryptocurrencies, Binance has revised its risk listing framework. This action is part of the exchange's ongoing efforts to inform users about assets demonstrating high volatility and risk. The change will take effect on May 7, 2025.

The monitoring tag will now apply to the following tokens:

Stella (ALPHA)

Hifi Finance (HIFI)

LeverFi (LEVER)

Movement (MOVE)

Portal (PORTAL)

REI Network (REI)

Tokens that receive the monitoring tag will be subject to more frequent checks, Binance claims. If these assets do not meet the platform’s listing criteria, they may be delisted.

What does the monitoring tag mean for investors

Tokens with the monitoring tag are classified as high-risk assets that may contain elements such as:

sharp or persistent price volatility

Lower trading activity or liquidity

Lack of transparency or regulatory uncertainty

insufficient growth or contraction of local activity

For its spot and margin trading systems, Binance urges users to take a risk awareness exam every 90 days for tokens marked with the monitoring tag. A warning banner will also be displayed on trading and market review sites to further support risk disclosure.

Binance review process

By periodically reviewing all mentioned tokens, Binance may adjust the distribution of monitoring tags based on factors such as:

Team members' commitment to projects

Level and quality of development-related activities

Trading volume and liquidity

Public messages and network stability

responses to Binance's due diligence questions

Part of a larger plan by Binance to maintain quality standards for listed assets and improve transparency of trading risks is the monitoring tag system.
