Odaily Planet Daily reported that Matrixport released today's chart stating that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently expressed that Ethereum will move towards a more streamlined and robust direction - drawing on Bitcoin's minimalist philosophy in core protocol design. He advocates simplifying the critical code of the consensus layer and enhancing the scalability capabilities of the Layer 2 network through more mature zero-knowledge proofs (ZK) and optimistic rollup technologies. The upcoming Pectra upgrade on May 7 integrates the 'Prague' and 'Electra' upgrade plans, including 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), focusing on improving the network's scalability, security, and user experience. Key upgrades include: introducing account abstraction mechanisms (EIP-7702), increasing the validator cap (EIP-7251), and doubling the throughput of data blocks (Blob) (EIP-7691) to reduce Layer 2 transaction costs. Despite some issues during the early stages of the testnet, Pectra is still seen as a crucial step in Ethereum's development.
