Is rat poison really fragrant?
94-year-old Buffett officially bows out, his parting words still “spicy”:
“If I could buy five-year put options on Bitcoin, I would buy them with my eyes closed!”
This is not new talk. From calling Bitcoin “rat poison” in 2018 to still being obsessed with it in 2024.
But don’t forget: harsh words on the lips, steady hands in action.
Blockchain technology? Acknowledged.
AI automation? Invested.
Bitcoin ETF? Criticized verbally, but Wall Street's hands are quicker than anyone else’s.
Sun Yuchen invites for dinner? Not going.
Apple, Coca-Cola? Heavy investment for 20 years.
Times have changed, but old Buffett has always remained loyal to one point: only buy things with “real value.”
But today’s “real” has quietly redefined:
• Bitcoin ETF has become BlackRock’s money-making tool,
• Satoshi Nakamoto's white paper has entered Harvard classrooms,
• Ethereum is no longer “air,” it is the global settlement layer in operation.
Back then he said, “Blockchain has value, Bitcoin has no value,”
Now Wall Street says:
“Thank you for not buying, we are just feasting on this wave.”
Poison can also be a tonic.
The law of true fragrance still hasn’t escaped the control of the financial old-timers.
