India’s military has announced the launch of “Operation Sindoor,” targeting nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. In response, Islamabad stated it had retaliated by striking Indian military positions and claimed to have downed several warplanes.
The exchange of strikes follows escalating tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors, triggered by a deadly attack on tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir last month—a strike New Delhi attributes to Islamabad, which has denied any role.
