I had just started trading crypto. I’d been watching YouTube videos, reading Reddit threads, and following influencers who shouted about “buying the dip” and “HODLing.” One morning, I woke up to see Bitcoin had dropped 15% overnight.

"This is it," I thought. "My first real dip."

Heart pounding, I opened my exchange app and threw half my small savings into BTC, feeling like a warrior stepping into the arena.

The next day, it dropped another 10%.

Panic set in. I scrolled through Twitter—half the posts said it was going to zero, the other half said to double down. Confused but determined, I held on. I spent the next week obsessively watching the chart, barely sleeping.

After two long weeks, BTC started to recover. My account balance finally crawled back into green. I sold with a tiny profit—not because I had a plan, but because I was exhausted.

Later, I realized I’d learned something priceless: emotions were my biggest opponent, not the market. From then on, I made a trading journal, set clear entry and exit rules, and never blindly followed the crowd again.
