You’ll see a lot of influencers on the internet talking about DOT Coin, hyping it up with big claims like "It will go to $100" and all that. But let’s talk about reality.
Yes, DOT is one of the older and more stable coins — a dinosaur in crypto terms. And to be honest, it's a great coin for day trading, scalping, or swing trades. It moves well on the charts and offers good profits. Another reason I recommend it to new traders is that it's been mostly stable since April 2024. So, if you get stuck, chances are it will bounce back in a week or so.
But when it comes to long-term holding, that’s where I get cautious — and here’s why.
Dot coin is trading at the price $3.89 with a Market Cap of $6.12 Billion. Its All Time High was $55 and All Time Low is $2.69. Its Total and Circulation Supply is the same which is 1.57 Billion DOT coin. But its Max Supply is not mentioned by the team. Let's understand What Circulation Supply, Total Supply and Max Supply do means.
Circulating Supply: Coins already in the market and available for trading.
Total Supply: Coins already created — including what’s locked or held.
Max Supply: The maximum number of coins that will ever exist. See attached picture.
You know what no mentioned Max Supply means? Whenever price of DOT goes up, its team can create new tokens and dump them in the market. I am not saying it will happen — but it can happen.
My dear fellows, this is a trillion dollar market, and millions are spent to misguide people and promote wrong coins.
Let me tell you the top of this coin in bull run — I might be wrong — but it will not cross $25. Above $25, everything will be more than bonus.
To reach the price of $25, DOT would need a market cap of approximately $39.25 Billion.
Here is the Formula:
Price × Circulating Supply = Market Cap
$25 × 1.57B = $39.25B
Do you feel 39.25 Billion out of 3 Trillion Market will be easy?
It’s what I think or feel, and that’s why I haven’t bought DOT coin. But definitely will do short term trade in it.
