$BTC Quantum computers may reveal the identity of Bitcoin's creator

Adam Back, a cryptography expert cited by Satoshi Nakamoto in the Bitcoin white paper, believes that the pressure from quantum computing could force Satoshi Nakamoto to move Bitcoin, thus revealing whether he is still alive or has died.

In an interview following the "Satoshi Spritz" event held in Turin (Italy) in mid-April, Adam Back suggested that the emergence of quantum computing could compel Bitcoin's creator Satoshi Nakamoto to take action to protect the assets in his wallet. Back is one of the early security experts mentioned by Satoshi in Bitcoin's Whitepaper.

Back believes that current quantum computers are not yet powerful enough to threaten the security of the Bitcoin network, but things could change in the future. He estimates that in about 20 years, quantum technology could break the complex security structure created by Satoshi. At that point, Bitcoin holders would have to move their assets to safer addresses based on quantum-resistant signatures.

As the threat approaches, the Bitcoin community will have to choose between abandoning old, vulnerable addresses to switch to a new upgrade or accepting to remain as targets.

Back hopes that the pressure from quantum computers will force Bitcoin's anonymous founder to move money out of his wallet. Satoshi Nakamoto is believed to own about 1 million Bitcoins. After launching the network and calling for community participation, on April 26, 2011, the creator of Bitcoin suddenly disappeared from the internet. Since then, data on the blockchain shows that none of the Bitcoins in his wallet address have ever been transacted.
