Ripple Report Reveals XRP's Superior Performance Over BTC and ETH in Q1 2025
In Q1 2025, XRP outperformed major cryptocurrencies, according to Ripple's final XRP Markets Report. The report outlines how XRP's dominance was cemented because of its legal victory over the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, leading to the reduction of a hefty fine and encouraging institutional participation.
XRP also experienced a price rally, with a short-lived 50% increase to $3.40, a peak not seen since 2018. Despite a recent slight drop in the price, XRP's year-over-year gain stands at 295%, significantly outpacing Bitcoin's 47.2% and Ethereum's 43.1% drop. Ripple's acquisition of brokerage firm Hidden Road and plans for institutional-grade blockchain adoption further signaled the growing institutional interest in XRP.
The report also noted a decline in on-chain activity on XRP Ledger, with fewer transactions and new wallet creations compared to Q4 2024.
