In the first quarter of 2025, BlackRock is massively expanding its investments in the Bitcoin ecosystem, with total exposure exceeding $5.4 billion. Most notably, BlackRock has increased its holdings in the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) to approximately 5.85 million shares, valued at nearly $274 million.

BlackRock's strategy is not limited to its own ETFs; it has also made its first investments in competitors' spot Bitcoin ETFs, including Fidelity's FBTC and a small amount in Grayscale's GBTC, with a total value of about $5 million. BlackRock has also significantly increased its holdings in Strategy Inc., with current investments in the company exceeding $4.23 billion.

Additionally, BlackRock has invested nearly $1 billion in Bitcoin mining companies, continuing to double down on its position in the digital asset sector.
