🏛️ U.S. House Unveils New Crypto Market Structure Draft

The U.S. House of Representatives has introduced a fresh draft aimed at establishing a comprehensive regulatory framework for digital assets. This proposal seeks to delineate clear boundaries between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regarding crypto oversight.

Key highlights include:

• SEC Oversight: Digital assets will be classified as securities if projects remain centralized, with over 10% token control.

• CFTC Oversight: The CFTC will oversee digital commodities and spot markets.

• Retail Investor Access: The bill removes wealth checks, allowing broader retail participation in digital asset markets.

However, the draft isn’t without controversy. Rep. Maxine Waters has expressed concerns over President Trump’s increasing ties to the crypto industry and plans to block a joint hearing on the bill.

As the countdown continues, stakeholders are closely monitoring developments that could shape the future of crypto regulation in the U.S.
