The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced on May 5 that it has finalized the agenda and confirmed the speakers for the upcoming roundtable "Tokenization — Transferring Assets on the Blockchain: Where TradFi and DeFi Meet." The event, scheduled for May 12 at the agency's headquarters in Washington, will explore how traditional and decentralized finance intersect through blockchain-based asset movement. Commissioner Hester M. Peirce, who leads the SEC's cryptocurrency task force, emphasized the importance of the discussion:

Tokenization is a technological development that could significantly change many aspects of our financial markets. I look forward to our panelists' insights on how the SEC should approach this area.

The event will take place from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM and will be open to the public both in-person and online, with no registration required for virtual participation. The opening speech will be delivered by Richard B. Gabbert, Chief of Staff of the Crypto Task Force, followed by remarks from Chair Paul S. Atkins and additional comments from commissioners Caroline A. Crenshaw, Mark T. Uyeda, and Peirce.
