The Bitcoin $BTC faucet is back!
Will 20,000 #比特币 be distributed this time?
Early Bitcoin entrepreneur Charlie Shrem (@Charlie Shrem ) has announced his latest project, which aims to reignite interest in the cryptocurrency by reviving the Bitcoin "faucet"!
Shrem introduced his new website 21million.com, which plans to distribute Bitcoin to users who complete a CAPTCHA task, a concept that can actually be traced back to the first Bitcoin "faucet" created by Gavin Andresen in 2010.
Currently, the website shows a screenshot of a CAPTCHA task and a field for users to enter a Bitcoin address.
However, the website has not yet been officially enabled and no Bitcoin is available for distribution. But #Shrem assures potential users that “there are no traps,” adding “I want Bitcoin to succeed, so I created this little service to give you some coins to get started!”
Shrem calls his development process “atmosphere coding,” says he’s using artificial intelligence to assist with the project, and emphasizes the fun he’s having with the work.
Looking back, Bitcoin #水龙头 played a major role in BTC’s early adoption, with Andresen’s original website distributing nearly 20,000 bitcoins, or about $1.86 billion in today’s value!
Shrem co-founded one of the first bitcoin exchanges, btcterminal, and faced legal challenges related to money laundering in 2014, but has since returned to the cryptocurrency space, investing in #SatoshiSync , launching various projects, and a podcast!
The revival of the #BTC “faucet” may open a new chapter in his continued efforts to promote cryptocurrencies and attract new users to the Bitcoin ecosystem. Let us look forward to it together!
