Death cross is the opposite situation of the golden cross. The 50-day MA chart is gradually declining, crossing at some point the 200-day MA chart. Accordingly, the average asset price for the last 50 days is lower than that for the last 200 days. This is considered a sign of a market downturn and is viewed as a signal to sell positions.
