In an interview with Trump's daughter-in-law, Musk jokingly said he regrets supporting Trump! Recently, Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump asked Musk during an interview if he regretted supporting Trump. He first laughed and said, "I regret it a lot," but immediately changed his mind and asked the cameraman to cut that part out. Musk has certainly been busy these past two years. Three years ago, he, carrying the title of "world's richest man," went to help Trump establish a department called the "Office of Government Efficiency," claiming to help the government save money. This person is indeed decisive; he immediately laid off over a hundred thousand civil servants and cut several government projects. According to his own words, he saved 1.6 trillion dollars, but the public wasn’t buying it, and there were daily protests, saying he was delaying serious matters. It is no secret that the Trump family is close to Musk. Lara Trump revealed on the show that Musk frequently runs to Mar-a-Lago to discuss matters with Trump. However, it must be said that Musk has indeed helped Trump a lot, donating 2.5 billion dollars just for the election, more generous than any other big donor. Don’t be fooled by Musk’s resignation; he left behind quite a mess. The layoffs from the Office of Government Efficiency have caused chaos in several departments, and I heard even the Department of Veterans Affairs was affected. Not to mention the newly added auto parts tariffs, which have directly increased costs at Tesla factories, no wonder Musk is getting impatient with Trump. Musk is quite a character, going from a tech mogul to a government insider, and now he’s leaving to return to being a boss at his company. However, the White House has said that even though Musk has left, the relationship is still intact, and it’s possible he may come back as an advisor one day.
