The SEC announces the agenda for the fourth roundtable on cryptocurrency tokenization

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced the agenda for its fourth roundtable on cryptocurrencies, which will focus on tokenization. The event, titled "Tokenization: Migration of assets on-chain: the intersection of traditional finance and DeFi," will take place on May 12 at the SEC headquarters in Washington D.C.

This roundtable will bring together industry leaders, representatives from major financial institutions such as Fidelity, Nasdaq, and BlackRock, and SEC officials, including Chairman Paul S. Atkins, who will give an opening speech. The discussion panels will explore the potential of tokenization to transform traditional financial markets by migrating assets to the blockchain and its convergence with decentralized finance (DeFi).

The SEC seeks to better understand the challenges and opportunities presented by asset tokenization, as well as the regulatory implications of this growing trend. The event will be open to the public and will be streamed live on the SEC's website.
