In the United States
The Blockchain Association was founded in 2018 by several cryptocurrency companies that wanted a unified voice to advocate for their interests with American lawmakers and regulators. Since then, it has taken numerous actions to promote blockchain technology and its ecosystem, particularly through publishing reports, organizing events, or supporting legislative initiatives.
It is now led by Kristin Smith, the former political advisor to the U.S. Congress, and its members include companies like Coinbase, Ripple, Uniswap Labs, Kraken, Grayscale Investments, and eToro.
The Blockchain Association has requested the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a flexible and phased regulation.
The new administration of the SEC, under the leadership of Paul Atkins, seems open to changing its strategy from Gary's strategy by adopting
flexible and progressive regulation, and a comprehensive change in the approach to regulating the sector. Will the sector witness the establishment of new rules? Let us know your opinion in the comments.
