Worldcoin distributed Orb devices to collect retina & iris data at various locations, one of which is Bekasi.
They promised crypto rewards for those willing to 'donate their eyes.'
But it turns out... the company doesn't have a clear business permit. They even pretended to be another company to conduct operations. Major red flag, right?
Komdigi has finally stepped in. They stated:
"The personal data of Indonesian citizens is vulnerable to misuse. It is unclear where it is stored, who accesses it, and for what purpose."
By the way, this isn't the first case. In Europe, Worldcoin has also faced scrutiny for violating user privacy. So it's not just Indonesia that is suspicious.
Is Worldcoin really an innovation or just a new modus operandi for stealing data?
