On April 16, 2025, the Solana Foundation identified a zero-day vulnerability in the confidential transfers feature of the Token-2022 standard. This flaw could have let attackers forge zero-knowledge proofs to create unlimited tokens or steal user funds. The Foundation worked discreetly with validators to implement a fix within 48 hours, without making the issue public at the time.
