#EUPrivacyCoinBan

The European Union is set to enforce a ban

on privacy coins and anonymous crypto

wallets by July 1, 2027 under its new

Anti-Money Laundering Regulation

(AMLR) 1 2.This move aims to enhance

transparency in digital transactions and

combat illicit financial activities.

Privacy-focused cryptocurrencies like

Monero (XMR), Zcash (ZEC), and Dash

will no longer be supported by financial

institutions and crypto asset service

providers (CASPs) 2 . Additionally,

anonymous crypto accounts will be

prohibited, requiring exchanges and

financial platforms to verify user identities

for transactions exceeding 1,000 euros 2

Critics argue that this regulation

undermines financial privacy, while

supporters believe it strengthens security

and accountability in the crypto space.
