#EUPrivacyCoinBan In April 2025, the European Union approved the #EUPrivacyCoinBan, a measure that prohibits privacy-focused digital currencies, such as Monero (XMR), Zcash (ZEC), and Dash, starting from July 1, 2027. Part of the new Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR), the legislation also bans anonymous crypto accounts and requires identity verification for transactions above €1,000. Additionally, the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) will be established, which will oversee up to 40 crypto service providers in at least six EU countries. Critics warn that the measure may compromise financial privacy and stifle innovation in the sector.
