#EUPrivacyCoinBan : The End of Encrypted Anonymity in History?

Europe Officially Declares War on Privacy: From July 1, 2027, the EU will fully ban privacy coins (such as Monero, Zcash, Dash) and anonymous cryptocurrency wallets. All service platforms and exchanges must collect user KYC data, and any transfers exceeding 1,000 euros will require identity verification. The new regulatory body AMLA will gain direct authority to oversee the main market participants.

Officials argue that this is to combat money laundering. But critics point out: this will not only affect criminals but also ordinary users, journalists, and activists—financial privacy is a fundamental right for them. Innovations in decentralized finance may be marginalized, and Europe may also lose its status as a cryptocurrency hub.

The key question for 2027 is: Is transparency more important, or is digital freedom more important? The era of anonymity is coming to an end, but the debate on this issue is just beginning.
