Alignment is one of the most harmful concepts in crypto. It is a non-user centric, shortsighted concept.
Ethereum doesn’t need to force alignment. It needs to build a protocol so good that everyone (end users, apps, and chains) want to use it.
I don’t care about alignment at Polygon. Polygon PoS and Agglayer (as it develops further) should be such great experiences that people want to come there for those reasons. We see it already on PoS when it comes to payments and RWAs. It’ll be true for Agglayer with time when it comes to cross-chain settlement.
As an example, I don’t want a Polygon stablecoin. I want a stablecoin that is a better experience on Polygon PoS than anywhere else due to the nature of Polygon PoS. Then I want that stablecoin to gain users on every other chain. Eventually those users will come to Polygon PoS because the experience is better. If the stablecoin were “aligned” as many apps want to be, then the brand would never be exported to other chains to then bring more users to PoS.
Think long term. Think about users first.
