#EUPrivacyCoinBan ¿The end of privacy in crypto? The EU bans anonymous currencies from 2027
The European Union has officially approved the new Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR), and the change is historic:
• Anonymous wallets will be banned
• Privacy cryptocurrencies like Monero, Zcash, and Dash will be prohibited
• Any crypto transaction over €1,000 will require identity verification
• A specific authority will be created to oversee large platforms
Necessary measure or an attack on financial privacy?
On one hand, it aims to prevent the criminal use of crypto assets.
On the other hand, many argue that this threatens financial freedom and decentralization.
What do you think?
Should governments have the power to block private currencies?
Or is a dangerous line being crossed in the name of security?
