#EUPrivacyCoinBan The European Union plans to introduce comprehensive regulations regarding anti-money laundering (AML), which will prohibit privacy-protecting tokens and anonymous cryptocurrency accounts from 2027.
According to the new Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR), credit institutions, financial institutions, and crypto-asset service providers (CASP) will not be allowed to maintain anonymous accounts or handle privacy-protecting cryptocurrencies such as Monero and Zcash.
"Article 79 AMLR establishes strict prohibitions regarding anonymous accounts [...].
