OP_NET Bitcoin Testnet is LIVE!!

OP_NET is a groundbreaking Bitcoin Layer 1 metaprotocol that brings full smart contract functionality directly to the Bitcoin blockchain, eliminating the need for sidechains or Layer 2 solutions. Leveraging the Tapscript component from Bitcoin's Taproot upgrade, OP_NET enables developers to build and deploy decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts using familiar programming languages like AssemblyScript, Rust, Python, and C++ via WebAssembly (WASM). This approach maintains Bitcoin's core principles of security and decentralization while introducing the programmability found in platforms like Ethereum.

Transactions on OP_NET are marked with a "BSI" string and processed by the OP_NET virtual machine (OP_VM), which functions similarly to the Ethereum Virtual Machine, allowing for complex computations and state updates directly on Bitcoin. The protocol supports both fungible (OP_20) and non-fungible (OP_721) tokens, aligning with Ethereum's ERC-20 and ERC-721 standards.

Notably, OP_NET requires only native BTC for transaction fees, avoiding the need for additional tokens. The ecosystem includes projects like MotoSwap (a decentralized exchange), Stash (a lending protocol), and KittySwap (a perpetual contract platform), among others. OP_NET's testnet is live, inviting developers and users to explore its capabilities and contribute to the evolution of DeFi on Bitcoin. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the Inco revolution!
