Buffett on the Decline: No Need to Panic
Recently, the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholder meeting, known as the 'Spring Festival Gala of the Investment World,' was held in Omaha, Nebraska, the hometown of 'Oracle of Omaha' Warren Buffett.
Regarding the significant fluctuations in the U.S. stock market since early April, Buffett stated that since acquiring Berkshire, the company's stock price had experienced three drops of over 50% in a short period, and the company's fundamentals were not an issue at the time. Compared to historical market crashes, the declines over the past few weeks are not significant at all.
However, when previously asked if measures were being taken to address the weakening dollar, Buffett mentioned that Berkshire would hardly do anything just to make a quarterly or annual financial report look better. Buffett also expressed that the financial issues in the U.S. scare him, but this is not a problem unique to the U.S.
After watching the live broadcast, overall, the old man remains relatively optimistic.
