A tower recently constructed in Xi’an, Shaanxi province in northern China is being hailed as the world’s largest air purifier, standing over 100 meters (328 feet) tall. Researchers from the Institute of Earth Environment at the Chinese Academy of Sciences have been testing the structure to assess its effectiveness.

As China continues to combat its persistent smog issues, authorities are exploring innovative solutions—this tower could be a promising option if proven successful. According to the project’s lead scientist, the purifier has already made a noticeable improvement in local air quality, though further testing is still needed to confirm its long-term impact.
