The cryptocurrency analysis platform Alphractal has released its latest market assessment, highlighting that although investor expectations are rising, the altcoin season has not yet arrived. According to this platform's exclusive Altcoin Seasonal Index, the cryptocurrency market is still in the 'Bitcoin season.'
Only newcomers outperform BTC.
Alphractal's data shows that only a few altcoins, primarily newcomers to the market, have outperformed Bitcoin in the past 60 days. Meanwhile, older altcoins continue to lag behind, failing to generate much momentum to rotate capital away from Bitcoin.

Visual analysis through the Bitcoin Position Index compared to Altcoin shows the current dominance trend. The orange areas on the chart signal Bitcoin's market control, while the blue areas indicate a shift towards altcoins. Neutral areas, with no signals imply that the best strategy may be to avoid both sides at the present time.
The Altcoin season may occur after Bitcoin pauses.
Despite Bitcoin's current dominance, Alphractal notes that market signals are beginning to change and an official altcoin season may appear in the coming days.
Historically, altcoins perform best when Bitcoin is sideways or enters a short-term decline, allowing capital to flow into riskier assets.
However, currently Bitcoin is still king and traders are waiting for the altcoin breakthrough, which may require patience until the circumstances truly change.
