On May 3, 2023, according to Decrypt, Apple updated its App Store review guidelines following a court ruling this week, easing restrictions on developers in the U.S. App Store. The new rules allow developers to offer external payment methods within their apps and support users purchasing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) through third-party marketplaces. However, cryptocurrency applications still have to comply with strict regulations, including a ban on offering reward tokens for completing tasks, prohibiting initial coin offerings (ICOs), and banning the use of user devices for mining.

- Easing of encryption rules related to device repairs: On October 30, 2024, it was reported that Apple's iOS 18.1 official version removed the encryption on battery health and opened up self-diagnostic programs. Whether users replace with original disassembled batteries or other third-party brand batteries, they can see battery health information on their phones without any operations after installation. In addition, certain aspects such as the screen, front camera, rear camera, and wireless charging coil have also been opened up; previous issues requiring the purchase of encrypted cables can be resolved after upgrading the system.
