The law defines virtual assets as a digital representation of value that can be traded or converted digitally, and can be used for payment or investment purposes, and any digital representation of any other value defined by this law and the regulations and instructions issued pursuant to it, excluding the digital representation of cash currencies or securities and other financial assets to the extent that they are regulated under any other law.
The draft law regulates the dealing in virtual assets and defines the activities related to them, oversight and supervision over them, and the protection of those dealing with them, while the draft law specifies the tasks and powers of the Securities Authority in regulating the granting of licenses related to dealing in virtual assets, ensuring compliance with the provisions of the law and the terms of the licenses, and taking the necessary measures to ensure that virtual asset service providers can conduct virtual asset activities.
